Coffee Car, an idea born on the road
DVC Coffee Car was born from first-hand experience of working as a rideshare driver and from a simple observation: on a journey, small touches can make a big difference. From this idea came a project combining on-board service, technology and communication.
DVC Coffee Car was born from first-hand experience of working as a rideshare driver and from a simple observation: on a journey, small touches can make a big difference. From this idea came a project combining on-board service, technology and communication.
It all started with a driver’s experience
It was while working as a rideshare driver that the Coffee Car idea began to take shape. The aim was to imagine a service that could improve the passenger experience while giving the driver a genuine point of difference.
So the starting point was not to create a simple car coffee machine, but to build a service experience suited to the professional vehicle.
Turning the idea into a real product
The idea gradually gave way to design, research and prototyping work. The constraints of fitting it into a vehicle, ergonomics, safety, access to the cup and the space available meant the system had to evolve from one version to the next.
Fitting into the vehicle
A compact unit, designed for a professional interior.
Ergonomics and safety
Reachable from the back seat, stable while driving.
Access to the cup
The cup can be taken with one hand, without leaning forward.
Space available
The unit is fitted behind the front left seat.
Testing the concept where it belongs: in the vehicle
The prototype was then installed and tested in a vehicle to observe how it is used in real conditions. This stage made it possible to observe passengers’ reactions, how the service fits into the journey and the improvements needed before considering a wider roll-out.
Installation
Installed and tested in a vehicle, in real conditions.
Passenger experience
Passengers’ reactions, observed on board.
Demonstration
How the service fits into the journey.

Coffee Car in front of entrepreneurs and investors
The Coffee Car project was also presented on the French TV show “Qui veut être mon associé ?” (the French Dragons’ Den). This experience was an important milestone in the project’s journey and helped test its positioning against an outside view.
From a machine to an ecosystem
The Driver app: your activity at a glance.
From your dashboard, follow your activity, the ads shown and the revenue generated in real time. In the event of a breakdown, a dedicated support number puts you in touch with our mobile service vehicle to quickly arrange an appointment, repair your equipment on site or replace it if necessary.
Coffee Car has gradually evolved beyond the machine alone: on-board equipment, connected screen, digital environment, driver network and advertising solutions. This evolution reflects the ambition to build a coherent ecosystem around the on-board experience rather than a standalone product.
On-board equipment
Provided under the Programme according to the applicable terms.
Connected screen
A digital display for the on-board experience and the network’s campaigns.
Digital environment
Intended to bring together information useful to drivers and to the running of the network.
Network and advertising
A new on-board point of contact, local or national depending on the roll-out.
Building the network with drivers
Coffee Car is now entering a new phase: gradually developing its network in France and involving rideshare and taxi drivers in this growth through the Driver-Investor Programme. This step should make it possible to structure the network while continuing to develop the services, the technology and the advertising model.
